IRD Community Compliance Campaign
Inland Revenue have launched a campaign aimed at collecting overdue debt and returns. They are particularly focused on GST and employer (PAYE / EMP) debt that is less than 12 months old.
Key points to note are:
- The introduction of a Community Compliance Team that will enable them to be more visible in the Community.
- They will make 3 attempts to contact customers directly.
- If the contact attempts don’t lead to a resolution or go unanswered, their next steps may include unannounced visits by the Compliance Team or a bank deduction to recover debt.

Good news for busy parents – More help with FamilyBoost

Great news for whānau – The FamilyBoost changes announced by the Government in July have now come into effect. In summary FamilyBoost is expanding so more households qualify and a bigger slice of your licensed ECE costs is covered. The main changes to note are:
- The maximum threshold for household income is now $57,286 each quarter.
- The amount that an eligible family can claim has increased to 40% of early childhood education costs, or a maximum of $1,560 each quarter.
- The abatement rate is now 7% for household income over $35,000 each quarter.
- These changes apply from the July–September 2025 quarter. Families can claim from 1 October.
Labour’s Capital Gains Tax Proposal
