AUGUST UPDATE – Work Visa’s, Environmental Accounting, Your Online Presence and more!

ACCREDITED EMPLOYER WORK VISA – NOW OPEN

The third and final stage for a new simplified work visa is now live. This Accredited Employer Work Visa was introduced to help with skilled worker shortages and allows offshore migrants to apply and work for a New Zealand-accredited employer. Partners and dependents of work visa applicants are also able to apply.

For you to be able to hire an offshore Migrant under the new AEWV policy, you must:

  1. Apply for employer accreditation (Takes approximately 10 working days)
  2. Apply for a job check (Takes approximately 10 working days)
  3. Ask the migrant to apply (Takes approximately 20 working days)

The job would need to have been listed on a national listing website for at least 2 weeks, and meet advertising requirements to give a New Zealander the chance to apply before you can do step 2 (the job check application).

You can find more about the application details and eligibility requirements below, and read the government article here.

CARBON EMISSIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTING BENEFITS

We’re in the process of attending formal training & upskilling on environmental accounting – why?

CARBON EMISSIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL ACCOUNTING BENEFITS

New Zealand is ramping up towards achieving Net Zero Carbon targets and we see the importance of environmental accounting & incorporating this into your ethos & external communication.  We all see the effect of climate change in our communities and the growth of the environmentally-conscious consumer.  We are soon to see credit card companies rating the carbon emissions of each transaction, so we can expect this trend to continue to grow strongly.

MEET OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBER SARI PANTHER

Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting Smiley Sari, who has recently joined our team as a Senior Chartered Accountant and Mentor. Originally from the Far North, she joins us with over 20 years of global experience in accounting and finance.

She is passionate about working with our clients to ensure they achieve the goals that are uniquely important to them. “It’s about being more than just a voice on the phone, it’s about ensuring people understand I’m 100% invested in their success, and I’m here for all the ups and downs in their businesses and lives”.

Sari keeps herself just as busy outside the office. When she’s not being dragged around the park by her dogs or providing unpaid taxi services to her teenage son’s various sporting commitments, you’ll find her wielding a hammer, drill, or circular saw as she renovates her home.

Come and say hi next time you’re in the office!
